Description: | Head from large terracotta mouldmade figurine. Woman, wearing sakkos. Hair over forehead frames face in three rows of tiny beaded curls. Face oval with narrow pointed chin, forehead low, eyes large, shallow set, narrow mouth with full pouty lips. Ears somewhat schematically shown against sakkos, wears pendant drop earrings. | |
Decoration: | White slip over entire head, blue paint on sakkos, red on hair, only white on face. | |
Material: | Fine pink to reddish yelllow clay without inclusions. | |
Munsell Color: | 7.5YR 7/4 to 7.5YR 7/6 | |
Condition: | Complete or intact. Broken off at neck, intact except chip above left eye, tip of nose. Large patches of white slip remaining on face, some red and blue paint preserved. | |
