Description:   Shoulder-handled Tankard (Rutter form III, type 1/2) with everted or offeset rim (not preserved), plump piriform body; one (type 1) or two (type 2) verticle strap handled rising from shoulder and attached at bottom or slightly above point of max. d. (not preserved), flat base (not preserved) (Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, pp. 283–284 ). Similar to Blegen 1921, Korakou, pp. 9–10, fig. 10 right.
Decoration:   Dark-on-Light Pattern Painted (Blegen's Ware C, class 1): reddish brown Rutter pattern IVA Horizontal Short Diagonal Bars, motif 53 (Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, p. 514) above shoulder-base of handle on very light brown field; same and Rutter pattern XIII Parallel Chevrons (Rutter 1995, Lerna 3, p. 587) beneath should-base of handle. Monochrome interior rim, unslipped interior.
Material:   Fine pink clay with very rare very fine angular white inclusions and very fine voids.
Munsell Color:   Slip: 2.5YR 5/6 (red); surface and core: 7.5YR 7/4 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving part of shoulder and shoulder-base of strap handle. Surface very word, slip has flaked off in palces.
