Nose and chin broken; the mouth much battered; elsewhere considerably chipped.; The head represents a bearded man, his face thin, with deep lines from nostrils to the corners of the mouth. His forehead is lined horizontally. The mustache is treated quite distinctly from the beard; the latter grows up in a peak to lower lip. He wears a round fillet tied at the back. Above the fillet is a smooth band with a concave profile.; Coarse work. The hair above the fillet is very summarily indicated. At the point of the head there seems to be an artist's point. The mass of locks below the fillet, and the beard are crudely rendered, with a lavish use of the drill.; Pentelic marble.; Drilled for setting on base June 1958.","Portrait Head of Male Figure","Agora:Object:S 526","26 February 1935" "","Object","S 1406","","","Agora","Agora:Image:2012.01.0387::/Agora/2012/2012.01/2012.01.0387.jpg::4000::3825","","","2nd. half of 3rd. c.
