Description: | Full height and width preserved, full length undeterminable. The lion lacks most of its lower jaw and the right ear. A painted face of acanthus alternating with palmettes; below, a border of maeander. Traces of red, yellow and black. A lion's head for decoration, with no hole for water to pass through; the hair done with tongues of clay with incised lines. Traces of yellow black and brown paint. A red strip on the underside where it would have been exposed. Clamp holes at either end of the top. Coarse pinkish buff clay. | |
