Mouth, most of neck, part of body missing. Mended from many fragments. Some of the glaze has abraded. Front of body burned. Drawing very difficult to see. P.H. 0.22; diam. at shoulder 0.074.
Youths flanking a stele draped with fillets. Each seems to wear a himation. Above, three lines. No decoration on shoulder. Dilute glaze: lines above figures. Matte drawing: red hair of youths; yellowish brown for cloak of right youth.
The shape of the stele seems to belong to Nakayama's B-V but without the oval crowning the pediment (Nakayama, Lekythen, pp. 266--268). 857 simply has a pediment flanked by akroteria.
