Title:   Amphora with Graffiti

Description:   Narrow neck and both handles broken away. Crudely and irregularly made; the bottom rounded, the lower part of the body covered with broad shallow horizontal ridges, the upper part with narrower, deeper ones.
The inscription Ε Ι is deeply scratched in the wet clay; to its left, lightly scratched after baking, Χ.
Light red clay with gray core; cream slip, much peeled. The clay fired dull and dark, and much blackened outside.
Context:   Byzantine fill.
