Description: | Neck and part of shoulder missing. General type as P 24316 (ΣΑ 2526): This is the characteristic general type for the large proportion of the lekythoi from this group. Bell mouth with variations in height and spread; lip usually reserved, occasionally glazed. Disk foot of varying thickness; below picture either one or two reserved lines. Added colors more or less well preserved. Only substantial variations are noted in the following descriptions. Shoulder: strokes above rays. Above scene, double row of dots. Scene: Athena striking a falling Giant. Same hand as P 24327 (ΣΑ 2537) and P 24326 (ΣΑ 2536). | |
