Description: | Fragment of male figure with chlamys around middle. Preserved from neck to right knee and left shin. Right arm broken away just below shoulder; bits missing from drapery. Hair and beard (?) ends show at edge of upper break. The figure is that of a fat man. The right arm was bent back at the shoulder. The left is bent at the elbow and holds in place the garment which hides the hand, passes round the small of the back and returns across the portly abdomen to hang over the forearm. Tucked in the folds, left side, is a club (? or torch of which top is missing ?). Mould-made. Traces of all-over white paint. Soapy pinkish buff clay. ADDENDA: According to the publication this figure is a boy figurine. | |
