ADDENDA., R. Nicholls, 1950: two fragments (not certainly from the same piece) of late 5th c. B.C. plaque protome (or protomai). The one from the bottom left corner of the plaque, the other from the bottom right corner. Preserved in each case is part of the projecting arm of the deity.
The hand being in both cases broken off.
In both cases the plaque is somewhat hollowed behind with a slightly convex outer surface. On this the hanging drapery is rendered in shallow relief (i.e. thin intaglio on mould). If the two fragments belong to the same plaque protome the drapery rendering was not symmetrial.
Traces of white slip.
The convex rendering of the plaque suggest the possibility of connections with Rhodo-Boeotian bust protomai.
