At ΟΖ-ΟΗ/97-98, south of the west end of the trench of Wall #11, we discovered a bothros with walls built up of small stones. Its domed roof, largely collapsed, is best preserved on the south, rising to a height of +85.294. Using Basket #2 we began excavating the bothros. [Finds stamp.] [AG-the stratigraphic relationship with the surrounding contexts is not very clear: the fact that the pottery was lotted together with that from the trench of Wall #11 suggests that the wall and the bothros are related in some way-maybe the former cut the latter? Also, it is not explained how the bothros is related to strosis #15 and to the overlying strosis +85.624.]
In this fill we found a fragment of drapery from a Roman statue and the base of a small marble Ionic column. At +83.744 the fill became clear of fallen rocks and we changed to Basket #3.
