Stratum:   fill, light brownish brown, very soft, 10% fine-medium pebbles, poorly sorted silty sand
Notes:   B23 is for the digging of the remaining light brownish earth in the trench (above the harder clayey layer). After a single pass, the harder clayey layer is visible at the surface in patches and can be found after a bit of scraping through the softer brownish earth elsewhere. With the only variation in the earth above the clayey layer being one of a bit more reddish or brownish tint, we will begin a new basket (B24) for the removal of the last softer layer throughout the trench.
