Notes: | The matrix of this basket is medium brown sandy silt, weakly cemented, with 5% pebble inclusions. B18 is a pass over the bottom layer of B's 9 and 10. The end of B9 to the N of the pit (B's 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) revealed a series of stones and roof tile fragments in an E to W axis attached to W294. To the N of this line more roof tile fragments and small cobbles appeared in the matrix. After one pass in B18 more of the roof tile fragments have been uncovered, which seem to stop at ca. 0.5 m. from the N scarp. In this area the soil is somewhat softer. It is decided to stop this basket at this point. | |
