Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SE. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This context is bordering 1106 to the west, but is larger and lighter in color. We are excavating this because it appears to have been deposited before 1106 but after the soon to be excavated (context #1111) to the west that has far fewer inclusions. This is a material-rich deposit with large sherds of pottery, tile, and stones. There is a lot of white mortar in the fill.
Panos came down upon a hard-packed dark red soil. This marks the bottom of context 1107. The layer beneath looks equivalent to the layer under 1106.
