Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This is another small context, this one bordering 1106 to the east. It is a lighter brown and finer soil with comparatively fewer inclusions for this elevation. It certainly was deposited before 1106, but its relationship to 1107 is hard to determine. We are excavating this to determine if the hard red fill under 1106 and 1107 continues under this context, to provide a large uninterrupted swathe that was deposited together. 1106-1108 are discrete deposits and comparatively small and shallow.
This came upon a very red soil contiguous with that under 1106-1107. There is a sharp distinction between this soil and the yellow brown hard soil under 1099. Under 1106-1108 is a roughly semicircular patch of higher inclusioned, dark red soil that is slightly clayey.
