Stratum:   Compact clay floor
Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is compact. It is clay. Structure materials: compact clay. Material bonding: clay.
Notes:   Initially we thought this was a plaster floor, but later realized it was a compact white clay floor, likely Late Classical based on the Classical pottery lying both above and beneath it. It was cut at the south by 1168, the foudation trench for wall 851; at the east it was broken away, possibly cut by 1198; at the north it was cut by robbing trench 1178; and at the west it was cut for the construction of wall 746. Its relationship to the posthole feature 1196 is therefore unknown due to the disturbance between the floor and the feature.
