Notes: | Notes from Charlotte Maxwell-Jones, 6-18-2010 This is a Frankish partition wall to the east of the courtyard, directly east of the drain. It is being removed at the end of the 2010 season to help bring the architecture of the house to a single phase for public viewing. In removing this wall, we have come down on another wall beneath this in the same place and orientation. This lower wall is constructed from large rough hewn stones, far better than the Frankish rubble wall. | |
