Notes:   Cut 6109 is a rectangular E-W cut for a leveling fill in eastern section of room NW of Byzantine house courtyard. Associated fill is context 6110. Excavated as part of program to get down to Byzantine levels in this room.
Cut has gradual break at top and vertical sides. Break at bottom is sharp. Overall, deposit seems to be a leveling fill cut into several surfaces of compact earth which itself was truncated by digging of a pit (5497 & cut 5498). Dating this context and its deposit will provide information about construction history in this room in post-Byzantine (i.e. Frankish) times.
