Description: | The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes: | Context 6239 is an inclusion-filled leveling fill in southeast part of room immediately west of courtyard of Byzantine house. Possibly associated with floor 6237, but it did not cover 6239 completely. Possibly the floor was destroyed in this part of the room at a later time. Context 6239 distinguished by its large number of inclusions (approximately 50%). Soil is dark reddish brown clayey silt. Removal of this context revealed more of a compact floor surface revealed by removal of context 6237. Dating context 6239 and its possible associated floor 6237 should provide insight into the construction history of this room. Removal of context 6239 also revealed western cut of possible robbing trench revealed first by removal of context 6207.
