Description:   Top slope of the context is moderate down to the NE. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   This context is a deposit heavy with inclusions, ca. 70%. It appears to have been compacted, possibly used as a surface. It begins just east and south of the stone structure and was cut through by the foundation trench for wall 5741, which shows that this wall was built or rebuilt after this rubble was deposited. The compaction of this deposit indicates that it was likely part of a room that was still in use, as the compaction suggests walking. The western boundary of this deposit is N-S, curving unevenly to the east at its southernmost point. It clearly overlays the deposit to the west. It is possible that this is a bothros of some sort, but the eastern side of the deposit was cut by the excavations of the 1960's, so the original eastern and northern boundaries of this context are unknown. The west boundary goes under the stone feature in the NW at its southeasternmost point, indicating that whatever the stone feature is, it is later than this dump deposit. The northern portion of this deposit is in a cut which sliced through several layers of floor at a gradual slope, revealing either two or three floors. These will become clear later. This is in the room NE of the courtyard.
