Title: | Cut Of Pit 889 | |
Notebook: | 1106 | |
Context: | 926 | |
Page: | 0 | |
Date: | 2012/06/12 | |
Description: | The context shape in plan is oval. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are concave. The break at the base of the cut is sharp. The base of the cut is vertical sides and flat base. Truncation: 759.
Notes: | This cut is the Frankish pit filled by 884, 885, 887, 889. There contexts were finally interpreted as dumped fills of this pit. It is not clear why this pit was excavated. 21 JUNE 2012 We suspect that this pit may in fact include a Turkish pit in part, which has contaminated surrounding context such as 880. The odd double circular outline of the pit is offered as supporting evidence.
