Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1109
Context:   113
Date:   2015/05/26
Lot:   Lot 2015-069
Stratum:   30% medium pebbles, <5% carbon
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   Soil is redder than 87.
This context is a fill of semi-circular cut into the bedrock in the SE part of the SE quadrant. It is likely still a full circle, but the east side continues below a martyr and is thus unexcavated.
The soil is unlike the grey ashy soil of 103. It is more red and contains much less carbon. Continued excavation has revealed a pit much like contexts 101 and 105. There is a small, central depression at the center of base. This depression is actually the opening of a jar in situ within a new cut. We will close this context and open another to dig the new cut and deposit.
At first it seemed that this fill was similar ot the fill in context 102 - reddish with little carbon.
