Stratum:   25% cobbles of grey limestone, 20% rounded spherical and angular tabular small to medium pebbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the N. The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is very compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   characteristics: harder than 71
This context was intitially identified as bedrock in 71 because it is so very hard. It is in fact a compacted level of the same soil in 116 and the continuation of the FT to the 2nd course of stones. We opened it when we realized that 116 ran into and below it. We therefore stopped excavating in 116 and opened this context. Although it is clear these are the same FT and soil, we are digging them seperately for safety. There is a clear cut in the bedrock that divides 116 and 124 which was found after a small sterile patch of soil was removed. We continued down to the same soil but looser. We stop this context when it becomes too deep to excavate further.
We remove 19 buckets of 15 liters each = 285L. There were few finds.
