Description: | Top slope of the context is steep down to the N. The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes: | Slope: steep to S and N. This context is the fill of a pit in the NW quad near wall 44. It is roughly circular and seems as though it could be similar to the pits in the SE quadrat. There is a clear cut on all sides. The pit is filled at the top with large subangular cobbles, smaller subrounded cobbles, large and small pebbles. It seems as though this pit is concave, and more steeply concave on the east side. The NE side of the pit shows a small flat area that then slopes with the rest of the pit. The sides of the pit are harder, whiter, and without any rocks. Bedrock has been revealed on the entire north and east sides. The west proves to be white, chalky material from above, as well as to the south. Other than rocks and soil, this irregular pit produced only 7 sherds of non-diagnostic pottery. Because we hit bedrock and have a clear cut to the south and west, we changed contexts.
