Stratum:   sherds, rocks (more than in 321, more rocks deeper in the context), bone, a few pieces of obsidian
Description:   Top slope of the context is steep down to the SW. The soil color is dark brownish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   The slope towards the SW is difficult to determine because we cut partially into that area in excavating 308. It seems to slope down dramatically towards the SW, but this may be misleading.
Below 328 Costas uncovered a redder, much harder layer of soil that he thought might be a different context, but upon further excavation he determined that it was the same as 328, and reasoned that 324 had darkened the top of 328.
Costas left a skin balk between the foundation trench and the robbing trench to the west to avoid contamination-- see context 339.
In excavation of 328, Guy speculated that an earlier structured interfered with the construction of foundation trench 325.
Guy suggested that the bedrock layer in the western half of the trench may be the dump of bedrock excavated for the construction of the foundation trenches. Deposits of modern material may be Broneer's dump from excavation of Room 1R.
