Description:   Structure materials: limestone and rooftiles. Material size: cobbles 0.15x0.15. Material finish: unworked. Material construction: rough face. Material bonding: none.
Notes:   Structure 135 is the NS wall north of the steps in Room E of Unit 2. The wall was revealed first in 118 and further in 131 and 132. The wall appears to be a continuation of wall 5 found in B 61 of NB 869, but only further excavation can confirm this. The wall is abutted by structures 189 and 110 on its west side. At the north end the extent of the wall is visible in the scarp where it is visible for roughly one meter below the elevation at which it was exposed. Earlier excavation removed wall 11 and the remnants of another wall (str 91) which overlaid this wall on roughly the same NS orientation. Blocks from this wall were likely reused in those. Structure 135 was left largely unexcavated at the end of session one. Future excavation will need to determine 135's relationship with wall 5 to the south and the abutting structure 110 and 189, as well as any possible floor layers below. Also, future excavation will need to clarify the destruction layer to the east removed in 141, 148 and 169 and determine whether to relate them to 135 or not. A layer of clay currently rests on the southern half of 135 perhaps from the same destruction event as 148 and 169. Only future excavation can determine this.
