Description:   The soil color is very dark reddish black. The soil compaction is loose. The soil is well sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   Pit fill deposit 439 is a lower lens of fill in a pit that cut through the tile floor in unit 2 room A. After the removal of the upper fill (415) it was assumed that the bottom of the pit had been reached, but further scraping revealed that the cut continued down. The removal o fthis pit fill further revealed the top of the wall that was also revealed in the bottom of the pit cut 431.
