Title:   fill in cut east of grave 1996-04
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1109
Context:   770
Date:   2015/05/18
Stratum:   inclusions: 20% pottery, bone, tile, cobbles (angular tabular), brick, shells
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light greyish brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We have seen this cut just east of grave 1996-04 for a few days now - it was presumably outlined and left unexcavated by previous excavators. In the eastern section of grave 1996-04 we could see a lot of fill covering a large tile, and even some bone underneath the tile. So it is likely that context 770 overlays a grave (2015-08) which was truncated by grave 1996-04. After removing most of the soil, we came down on one large tile, sloping down to the north, laying north-south and another, smaller tile partially underneath the larger one, extending to the south.
