Description: | Finely cut marble pilaster. Square dowel on top (W. 0.05). Smooth anathyrosis (W. 0.025) with claw chisel marks on rest of top surface. Line along top Side A, 0.03 from volutes, 0.02 from flower. Similar to A-1099. | |
Decoration: | On two opposing faces eight-leaf palmettes (Side B) with thin leaves, well rounded; other two faces (facing sides) anthemia (Side A), with surfaces of leaves sharply cut out in delicate grooves. Palmettes and anthemia borderd by double volutes, on which rests Lesbian fascia (H. 0.035) with a four-petal flower in the middle of each side. | |

Condition: | Missing parts. Single frgt., preserving one anthemion side missing bottom edge, broken in half at sides where palmette decoration, back side with anthemion completely missing. Worn at corners. Crack on Side B. | |
