Description: | Flat medallion with scraped groove. Slightly outturned rim, some fragments preserve scraped groove below the rim. One fragment has a slightly browner glaze, and is better struck: it may represent fragments of a second bowl from the same mold. | |
Decoration: | Mold made figural scene. On the medallion, four pointed acanthus; on the calyx, long fronds; on the wall, woman decorating trophy and Nike; on the rim, simplified guilloche between two raised bands. Worn black, burgundy, and olive glaze throughout. Romano identifies another bowl from the same workshop, see I.B.
