Description:   Handmade terracotta figurine of four-legged animal (dog) standing erect. Head short with pointed muzzle, slight indication of frontal lobe or brow ridge, and relatively tall erect ears. Neck long and decorated with wide collar. Body short, with forelegs longer than hind legs. Tail curves upward. Partial fingerprints preserved at various points on dog's body.
Decoration:   Red glaze on face (nose, eyes, tips of ear), back, collar, front of front paws, and tail. Continuous but uneven stripe of red glaze runs from top of head, down neck, across back, and to tip of tail.
Material:   Fine light brown clay.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 6/4 (light brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving head, body, tail, three legs. Missing bottom half of left hind leg. Red paint or red glaze preserved on face, ears, neck, back, tail, and legs.
Period:   5th c. B.C.
Chronology:   Early 5th c. BCE
Findspot Description:   Near South Stoa ?. Found at excavation dump, June 21, 1904.
