Description: | Cyma reversa type. Hollow rectangular portable altar with plain back, side panel(s) decorated with figures in relief, cyma reversa crowning molding, and flat top. Cyma reversa decorated with Lesbian leaf and dart pattern in relief. From same mold as MF 8586, MF 8774, MF 1977-4, and maybe MF 11149. Crowning molding: cyma reversa (H. 0.021), fascia (H. 0.010). | |
Decoration: | Horse and rider type. Right panel bears a horse and rider in medium relief, facing left. Only horse's head and rider's head and torso survive; rider badly chipped. Horse's eye and mane and rider's flowing hair painted in black. Bridle and reins added in red. Darts of cyma reversa and soffit of fascia painted in black. Central area of leaves painted red with ridge reserved. Red stripes painted across top of fascia and around edge of top. | |
Material: | Pale buff clay with numerous brownish red and reddish brown inclusions. Fired pinker at core. Moderately thick slip. | |

Condition: | Fragment. One fragment preserves upper part of right side and upper right rear corner with small area of back, one-third of right panel (with relief decoration), crowning molding (complete profile), and part of top. Interior surface preserved. | |
